Ann Chanecka works for the City of Tucson and recently became a Deputy Director in the Department of Housing and Community Development. She comes to the Housing Department with experience working in the City Manager’s Office and for the Department of Transportation and Mobility. She has a Master’s in Public Administration from the University of Arizona and was a Peace Corps volunteer in Madagascar. She is a member of the American Planning Association.
Ann will talk about the work of the Department of Housing and Community Development and how the city is addressing some of Tucson’s most acute challenges such as high poverty rates, homelessness, and housing instability. She will talk about the new Commission on Equitable Housing and Development and what the department has planned for the next few years.
