Middle East Expert on Divisive Politics and American Diplomacy
October 21, 2022 @ 2:00 PM - 3:30 PM MST

At a critical time for our nation and the world, the Tucson Great Decisions Association will present a Zoom program, “Divisive Politics and American Diplomacy.” It features one of our favorite speakers, former ambassador David Dunford, and audience participation is encouraged. The program will be on Friday, October 21st at 2 PM. Registration for the webinar may be made at www.tgda.org/events. The cost is $10 and it is open to all.

During the discussions about the Foreign Policy Agenda during the 2022 Great Decisions season, a common thread of challenges was dealing with our domestic political divisiveness. Our 2023 Great Decisions topics deal with aspects of our forthcoming foreign policy issues. In this opening webinar, Ambassador David Dunford will address the linkage between our American Political Divisiveness and the challenges faced by our diplomatic services.
Ambassador Dunford retired from the U.S. Foreign Service in June of 1995 following the completion of his assignment as Ambassador to Oman. He served from 1988-92 in Saudi Arabia as Deputy Ambassador, including 15 months as Acting Ambassador. Dunford was an Adjunct Instructor at the University of Arizona from 1996 to 2016 where he taught courses on the Arab-Israeli Conflict, Middle East Business Environment and Globalization and Global Government.
Great Decisions is a nonpartisan discussion program about international affairs, sponsored nationally by the Foreign Policy Association, with many groups in the area coordinated by the Tucson Great Decisions Association, a volunteer nonprofit organization.
